Pastel Design 2018

Well what a year Pastel Designs has had. I have had an amazing year so many styled shoots, being featured in publications (another on the way this month), wedding shows and building relationships and helping lots of lovely couples share there news.

2018 started off a little quiet and left me thinking is there a space for Pastel Designs in the wedding world, my domain renewed automatically and I thought ‘what the hell, let’s go for it!’. Where do we start? I went to a few wedding shows last year to scope out the industry and did a little networking. I met a lovely lady Lisa, who took me under her wing and introduced me to a group of exceptionally talented suppliers putting together a shoot in a remote Dorset location that has NEVER been used before (yes this is the shoot due to be published). This gave me more confidence to push my design skills further and put myself out there for more shoots.

I then did my first wedding show, people like to start small. No not me I went straight in to the Bath and West wedding showcase. I had an absolute ball! Met some more fantastic suppliers and had some great conversations with lovely bride and grooms to be. I loved it that much that I will be back for the next for sure! I came away with three new clients. The next month I did the Wincanton show and gained more contacts, saw friendly faces from the Bath and West and felt I really cemented myself within the industry locally.

I am now 8 styled shoots down and have more arranged for next year, I love being involved in these as everyone works so well as a team and you always learn new things which is great being a ‘newbie’ in the industry.

Exciting things for 2019

I was approached by two local venues to be preferred suppliers which I am totally elated about and can’t wait to really cement these opportunities. The venues both very different will give me the opportunity to use my diverse design skills. I will be at the open days displaying my skills so will show you my photos of the events.
I am signed up for six shows already this year and I will be looking for other opportunities throughout the year. I am going to get entering those awards and hopefully bring back some titles!

I just wanted to say a big thank you to my customers for my support in 2018 and looking forward to working with you again in 2019. I would also like to say thank you for all the support in my first year at Pastel Designs and really can’t wait to get going again. If you or one of your friends get engaged at the stroke of midnight on New Year contact me and I will look after them.

See you in 2019.

Thank you from Pastel Designs
