Summer brights will give you a colour pop.
It is sadly nearly the end of summer but just before the autumn colours come in let’s have one last color injection. Bright colours and glitz! You will certainly get lots of inspiration for a colourful wedding here!
I love seeing colour as much as I love the pastels that can often be used when thinking about your wedding pallet. I wanted to create a shoot with a difference. Here is what we came up with.

Having taken part in quite a few styled shoots I thought it was about time I stepped up and co-ordinated one of my own ideas I like to be different in my design and wanted to create a wow statement, something a little different to the styled shoots I had been seeing recently. Combining glamour with a pallet of brights. I set out to find a venue, Sparkford hall was perfect, known for its alternative style this was very much in-line with my ideas. The blank canvas of a white and grey dining room made the perfect backdrop for our shoot which was filled with stunning amounts of colour.
I felt that all the inspiration I have seen on blogs or magazines are very whimsical and romantic. I love romance so wanted to keep the harmony in mind with my mood board. The colour pallet of pink, orange, teal and silver certainly gave my amazing team of suppliers the inspiration to create a beautifully vibrant and modern shoot.
The models were wearing a traditional but modern look with a Stunning beaded gown and a tuxe! We did mix it up a little with a leather jacket to give the edgy look around the grounds of Sparkford Hall.
I wanted to again go for the unconventional by using Perspex for the invitation, the table plan, and the place names. Teamed with silver text this really made the difference in my eyes. The place names could be kept after for a gift for the guests, a keepsake of the day. The table plan suspended within a floral flame is a beautiful statement for the guests to admire.
Event Stylist – 5starcelebrations
We were thrilled to be asked to be involved in this ’Summer Brights’ shoot, not only is it a fab concept but all the other suppliers involved are amazing to work with and the venue, Sparkford Hall, is simply stunning. We provided the organza sashes and decided to tie them in a plait on the chairs so that you could really see the contrasting colours against each other. Sashes were also tied onto the balloons and our cut glasses were added to the tables. It’s nice to step outside the box with your decor; rather than have one colour, try incorporating different tones of that colour or choose 2 or 3 different colours that complement each other.
Make Up – Heathercard-makeup
I created a rock chick vibe with my makeup using airbrush makeup and too faced products to create a sultry smoky look to off set the beautiful feminine dress with something a little bit edgier.
Cake – The Silver Cake
Cake The ‘brights’ brief was a joy to work with. A statement coloured tiered cake created the perfect canvas for fresh blooms from Dream Parties and perfectly sized coordinating mini balloons from Dream Parties. This bold, fun colour scheme delivers an inspiring step away from the norm.
Photographer – Photography By Chantel
I absolutely loved capturing this styled shoot, for me it had several dimensions to it which made creating the images even more interesting. The fun and vibrance was refreshing alongside the glamour and romance. The images we created inside with our models had a movie glamour feel about them while the images outside in grounds celebrated the edgy, modern and vibrant vibe of the shoot.
Balloons – Dream Parties
When Chantel the photographer invited us to take part in this beautiful and bright shoot we didn’t hesitate. Charlotte’s ideas and inspiration board were very glamorous and we had to use our Giant silver orbs balloons. They are very modern and stylish. Sash tails from 5 Star Celebrations added a special bright touch to our spherical giants. They are incredibly versatile and did look fantastic indoor and outdoor. Bea asked us to provide mini balloons for the cake. We went to orange and pale blue colours. They did fit in perfectly.
Hair – Sloanes of Shaftesbury
Following the feel of the shoot, relaxed with a slight rock vibe I felt a traditional ‘up-do’ would not be fitting for this edgy look. Instead I opted for soft waves to give the hair volume and texture and a side braid to add interest and elegance.

Florist – The Happy Blossoms
Loved working on this amazing shoot with the brief of ‘brights’. We used a variety of bold and vivid colours featuring vibrant oranges and pinks with yellows, blues and a touch of white. I wanted the flowers to feel like a midsummers day so we combined a variety of summer colours and flowers which included peonies, dahlias, roses, asclepia, nigella, and my favourites, craspedia. The feel of all the florals is loose and relaxed with lots of movement and texture within the designs.
Lindsay Punch became our beautiful bride, having been in the fashion industry for a number of years we were very lucky to have a personal stylist and model in one!
Henri Lupi-Lawrence our groom, this was a new venture for him but he stepped up and the shoot was a success!
